2026 AUTUMN BUDGET

In summary…

The 2026 Budget contained many smaller measures rather than major announcements. While the headline rates of Income Tax on earnings, National Insurance, and VAT remain unchanged, several changes will take effect from April 2027 and beyond.

These include higher Income Tax rates on savings and property income, changes to Business Asset Disposal Relief, new payroll requirements for some employee benefits and further developments in Making Tax Digital.

Next steps

With several changes due from April 2027, now is a sensible time to review your personal or business plans.

In particular, business owners considering a future sale, landlords and savers facing higher tax rates, and employers providing company vehicles or medical cover may benefit from planning ahead.

Much of the detail is still subject to legislation or consultation, but early consideration may help avoid rushed decisions later.

Please get in touch if you would like to discuss how the Budget may affect you, your family or your business.
